I've had one person try the black rouge and it was so slow that essentially nothing happened at all that we could detect. Red rouge gives a very noticeably smoother finish than CeO.

To my eyes, the mirror seems more reflective, but I'm absolutely sure I'm just imagining that. I know that the differences would be more subtle than naked eye would show.
I know there are people out there doing Lyot testing...perhaps Tom could send out some samples so that the smoothness of the red and black surfaces could be quantified.
