Sorry that I am real late on this but for future reference, small
holes (up to about five inches or so), you can get diamond hole
saws for fairly cheap off of eBay.  There are some Chinse makers
that are selling saws and other diamond tools for etremely cheap
prices.  I got a two point siz five inch saw for less than twenty
dollars, including shipping.
If you do get a diamond hole saw, do a few holes very rapidly to
take the high spots off of the saw.  The holes are very quickly
done - it took me just a few seconds to do a three quarter inch
piece of plate glass with the saw and some water to carry off the
glass scrap.
