My suggestion is to use the syncronous motor and do a drive
corrector.  I've got some ideas on modifying some of thes units
on my web pages.  The little cheap ones of about thirty dollars
or so will work just fine.  The motors just take a few watts and
the power inverters are good for a hundred watts so you aren't
even starting to strain one.
