My mantra, which you have again found to be true, is that
whatever is on top is going to turn concave if you work long
enough.
Longer strokes make the progress faster than short strokes as
there is a natural ROC for any particular stroke length.
I'll also note that the ROC will always be changing so keep track
of it as you go down through the grits.
