Subject: [ATM] DOH! moments

Just wanted to vent :-)

Been working on a 24" scope (Nova optics) off and on for a few years now,
a little here a little there. Recently I received my Astrosystems spider
and that very night hurridly drilled the holes for the struts in the rings
so I could assemble the cage and see some major progress.
Well, as you might have guessed, the concept of secondary offset
completely escaped me at the time and I ended up centering the spider
(this is my 4th scope, I should know better). On a 24" f/4 that's not a
good thing. So, I've plugged the holes with dowels and am ready to
redrill a bit more cautiously this time.

Just wanted to share my frustration and am wondering how many DOH! moments
y'all have had.

Bill "DOH!" Mitchell

I've done better, drilled the holes for my spider on the wrong side (bottom
of upper cage). Luckily for me all I had to was flip it around and the
measurements worked.

Also the "why cant I see anything?" while the dust cover is on ;)
