Re: [ATM] Coulter secondary adhesive

The adhesive is a RTV type adhesive. It could be almost any
color, usually clear, white or black.,
When reattaching it, use a quality adhesive rather than one of
the cheap ones as your mirror will be hanging on it for it's
life. Also Don't forget to clean throughly with oil removing
chemicals and don't touch the surfaces wityh your fingers as
this will then transfer oil to the surface, making for a poor
adhesion of the adhesive!
Thickness is all important with this stuff with thin sections
being much more rigid than thicker sections. U;kk oyut two
quarters between the mirror and support that can be removed later
after the RTV has cured. This is about a nice distance for both
the primary and the secondary. Don't forget the new distance fro
the primary spots is at about the fifty percent point rather than
the old seventy percent point as the new spots gice a nicly
balanced parabola although at a different ROC but that
difference is so small that it won't be seen.
Don't worry about many point cells with the Coulter mirror unless
you got very l9ucky with your scope as most mirrros barely made
anything close to quarter wave and were often fraught with all
kinds of bumps and valleys in strange locations. I've tested
about a dozen Coulters now and have seen this with all of them.
