>From postings here and on the interferometry group, it looks like
laser diodes are plenty small enough (i.e., smaller than Airy disk
size for typical applications). I believe the small size implies a
clean, spherical wavefront. For the same reason, the pinhole in a
point diffraction interferometer produces a spherical wave, regardless
of the quality of the wave that enters the pinhole. Someone please
correct me if I'm wrong here.
