[ATM] ITV Telescope meeting Awards

Hello ATM group,

it's long time ago, that I posed here last time.
See here my report on the awards at the International Telescope Meeting at 
Vogelsberg (ITV) near Frankfurt Germany. This is the largest German telescope 
meeting and propably the largest in Europe. This time at a new location, 
approx. 500-600 attendees. Very many homemade mirrors, progressively larger 
and thinner.

As the text is German, here a short summary (click at the underlined 
textlines for more pictures):

- Werner Reimann 27 inch f/4,2 Dobsonian with a homemade mirror of 30 mm edge 
thickness only. The mirror weighs just 20 kg! Werner is the only one I know, 
who parabolizes such large mirrors mainly with MOT. Areally nice mirror, no 
astigmatism with the rollerbearing lateral support now preffered by most 
large thin pizzamakers.

- Fabian Kurt 18" f/4,2 Ultraleicht Dobsonian at a total weight of 20 kg! 
Selfmade mirror out of 25 mm thick borofloat, 6 trusses, one ring top and a 
nice mirror cover that works as baffle and dewprotection while open.

- Markus Emmerich One Pole Newtonian with alt/az mount. The height of the 
pear is hydraulically adjustable!. The focuser is mounted along the pole. 
Variable iris focuser baffle instead of large baffles behind the secondary.

- Peter Klieber 8 inch 3-arm travelscope. The 3 poles are of an old tripod. 
The homemade helical crayford focuser is made of a plastic pipe. selfmade 
mirror.

- Rainer Fuerst packing paper tube warped around wooden ring baffles a glued 
with wall paper glue. Courved spider, main mirror fan, 90° collimation with 2 
screws
