Re: [ATM] Coating not Adhering on Glass

Wiping a glass for cleaning purpose is generally not a good idea.
There is inherent risk of scratches by occasional dust of abrasive matter.
Final "wipe" with volatiles like acetone or alcohols (methanol is
poisonous by the way), is very inefficient because after wipe, thin layer
of solvent remains and evaporates quickly leaving dissolved stuff on the
glass.
Best final wash is water, distilled or deionized, poured on the inclined
glass.
Clean glass will let water run off and few remaining droplets should be
blown
away. No wiping necessary if glass was clean. If water sticks, this is sign
of insufficient cleaning.
First cleaning is best done underwater with little of neutral detergent and
light touch
of cotton previously inspected for presence of foreign hard inclusions( eg,
wood).
Breath test mentioned by Peter is efficient and simple way of detecting
unclean areas.

Vladimir.
