I tried this a few years back and it worked
very well.
The cork I used was about 2mm thick.
You don't need to adhere the cork to the tube inside
as the curve will keep it in place. Just make sure that the
edges are butted together to complete the circle.
I didnt black out my cork, but maybe should have!!
I belive this tip was in an old Astronomy Now issue.
