[ATM] Turcite COF
I found this information about Turcite while web surfing recently:
"The Teflon low-friction materials have the unique characteristic of a
coefficient of friction that falls as load is added. Data on Turcite
performance shows that the friction coefficient falls until a 100 psi (0.7
MPa) load is reached. The coefficient then levels off at 0.04.
Unfortunately, most plain bearings have a loading less than 35 psi (0.2Mpa),
even when fully loaded. But, Teflon impregnated sheet materials greatly
reduce friction problems in plain side ways by reducing the difference
between static and dynamic friction coefficients. "
This follows my experience with Turcite. The more the load the better
Turcite gets.
