This is a very popular design down here in the South.  The only problem
is that the seeds create ramdom decay variations!  There have also been
a few reported cases of "reverse drive" when seeds have begun to grow
into new melons.

Another popular drive is based on termite comsumption of wood.  I
understand that Southern Yellow is good for the sideral rate and white
pine is good for the Lunar rate.
