Re: [ATM] rutten & van venrooij - proper pronunciation
I think I stand corrected; the website I got either gave bad advice or the folks who read for it have a different Dutch accent. Or else, I just made a mistake.
I found a composer's name on the website you gave that was very similar: Marc van Rooij
It sounded like Mark Fahn Roey, with trilled r's.
Sometimes, however, the v's do sound like v's; other tiems, they seem to sound like F's. I donno when you do which.

You might check Radio Netherlands' pronounciation of musicians' names:
http://www2.rnw.nl/mu/en/behind/pronunciations/
Naturally, you won't find Martin van Venrooij or Harrie Rutten there, but
checking for instance
Rooij, Marc van, or Verdonk, Martin, or Vlijmen, Jan van, or Ruppe,
Christiaan Friedrich, you might have a basis for interpolation.
BTW, you can also check Huygens, Constantijn (+Ruppe above) to get an idea
of the pronounciation of one of the greatest ATMs ever....
