Not that I have any knowledge of Dutch (single or double) at all, but the 
alleged pronounciation of "v" seemed a bit surprising to me.

You might check Radio Netherlands' pronounciation of musicians' names:
http://www2.rnw.nl/mu/en/behind/pronunciations/

Naturally, you won't find Martin van Venrooij or Harrie Rutten there, but 
checking for instance
Rooij, Marc van, or Verdonk, Martin, or Vlijmen, Jan van, or Ruppe, 
Christiaan Friedrich, you might have a basis for interpolation.

BTW, you can also check Huygens, Constantijn (+Ruppe above) to get an idea 
of the pronounciation of one of the greatest ATMs ever....
