The problem is when the tile breaks away it will be like a large
chip of glass that will likely cause a scratch...

Better to use something else to hog out and then make the tile tool.

A) Steel rimed can
B) Pulley
C) Grinding wheel (off the motor like a disk or pulley)
D) A sub-diameter Tile Tool for Hogging only

There have been numerous other objects suggested over the years
it just is a matter of what you have on hand that is the right size
