The attitude here is more that if we could make glass for the cost of
actually buying it already melted and in a nice lump, most of us would be
trading glass recepies than buying glass.
Things like zoom EPs are, in the whole, abomonitqtions of a design to begin
with as they have too much glass and not enough quality - you can't get the
quality due to the design constraints to begin with so don't bother.
Diffraction limited optics isn't a goal, it is the starting point for an
ordinary average POS scope. You can do a lot better than that with your own
hands if you just try.
