Re: [ATM] What's up with my Barlow?
The problem with EPs and such is that there is no standard for where the
focal plane goes in the EP. As such, you need to have a lot of focus travel
to get to where you want which is the focused condition. Barlows make the
problem even worse as most of them require a change of the focuser position
to get the system into focus.
It sounds like you just need to get the primary moved to the point where yo
can get focus. If the focusser is fully racked out then just pulling the
barlow a ways out from the seated position to get the system focused. If
this is so, you will want to make a ring to go on the barlow to focus. If
the travel is all the way in, then you will have to move the primary up the
tube a little bit to get a good focus.
