I don't remember having to do that.  The battery life of the HP35 with the
red LED display is about the same as my new Pentium M notebook with XGA TFT
display ~2 hours. I have owned a few HP rpn calculators since then. Still
have an HP41C. My HP35 originally cost $395 and took 10 weeks to get
directly from HP. Drove the narrow Highway 91 two-lane road  in my '63 VW
bug from Corona to HP Fullerton (Neely sales) to get it. My HP 35 was an
early version and had a mistake in it. If you performed 2.02 ln ex the
answer was 2. I still have the recall notice from HP that said that if I
sent the calculator back, HP would replace it at no charge. Thank you Bill
Hewlett for having the foresight to make the HP35 hand held calculator and
to Dave Packard for having the integrity to support such a great product.



RPN calculators have no equal.
