[ATM] How to make LED's work really good for KE Testing

To answer the LED question for K.E. testing:

I built a LED driver circuit that was designed for driving white light LED's
with dimmer control. I used a 10 turn potentiometer which gives really
really fine control over the intensity of the LED. The circuit is also a
constant current device so the LED brightness is REALLY REALLY stable.
Also, the circuit is designs to suck every last drop of juice from a battery
pack - it milks the AA batteries down to less than .5 volts. The upshot is
that you can run a single LED on this circuit for months on end - LITERALLY.

Using a LED with this control is the BEST thing I've ever experienced for
K.E. testing. Beats an incandescent setup and even beats a laser fed fiber
optic setup (described in SPIE papers).

If anyone is interested, I'm sure I can scare up the schematic for this
circuit. It's not really complicated, I found all the parts at a local
electronics supply and it took about 30 minutes to slap together on a piece
of perf board.
