Still the same ol' way, throw it on the fire and let it boil and bubble!
Actually, I've done it many different ways, including:
Microwave on a tile tool
under water
hot plate in a can
hot plate in water in a can
propane torch (yeppie, in the flame no less!)
heat lamps
double boiler in the top part
camp propane space heater
And probably other methods that I don't remember any more.  They all worked
but some have problems that other systems don't.
Personally, I prefer a method using cooler heat so that the pitch temp
doesn't get too high and start outgassing the volitales too fast.  When you
can easily smell it, you're probably too high for a temp.
