Between a 15" and a 16", there is little visual difference.
I'd suggest a 18" or larger if you reallly want to see a difference between
your present scope and your new scope tho.  The 18" will get you a good mag
deepeer than the 12".
Do be aware that making a large mirror is going to be an exercise in a lot
of things if you don't have somebody that has already done a mirror with you
to assist in the strangeness things that will happen.  Also, when you get to
a lap, you will probably want to make a subdiameter one as a 16" lap will be
difficult enough to move on the mirror!
