RE: [ATM] mirror dd amage

Keep in mind that if you have enough bevel, the BACK of the mirror acquires
a 45 degree sharp edge, and that must also be beveled. And when you bevel
off the sharp edge on the back, you have a 45 degree sharp edge on the front
again. After a few such cycles, you end up with a much smaller conical
mirror blank with zero aperture.

The bevel shouldn't be much more course that the surface being ground.
Course stone is fine when course grinding but you need to dress with a fine
stone when lapping. I use a diamond file, the dress with a medium to fine
stone...

I don't like a course stone because I have had small pieces break off
during fine grinding and had to back up.
