Re: [ATM] More Mirror Disasters!
Actually what the problem is when you get sleeks (smooth scratches rather
than a line of craters) is that large pieces of CeO is sticking up in places
on the lap and this digs into the glass more than the rest of the CeO.
"Sinking" the CeO pieces (or clumps of CeO) drops them down to the same
level as the rest of the CeO and the sleeks go away.
Using a thin mix of CeO in the final stages will alomeriate the problem of
sleeks a lot as the bigger pieces will tend to fall out of the mixture and
not get onto the lap and mirror. In addition, clumps will tend to be broken
up by the thin mixture and not do the same problem.
