How many know that the reflex "finder" was actually a development for the
war (by Germany) to use as gunsights on their fighters, and pictures of the
cockpits of BF-109s, which had them first, had them airbrushed out of the
picture by the censors? I have a picture of Charles Lindbergh being shown a
BF-109 cockpit, including the reflex gunsight, and the author of the book,
in his caption, says he was very surprised to see that picture without the
censor's airbrush marks on the gunsight.

The BF-109 was not the only cockpit Lindberg was shown in Germany.

And as an aside, Lindy did make sure his numerous girl friends were
airbrushed out of the pictures.
