[ATM] Something of Interest

A great joy of my youth at Berzerkeley about 45 years ago was the Friday
night program of R. Buckminster Fuller on communist radio station KPFK. He
would probably approve the following web page of interest to structure
experimenters:

http://www.arcaro.org/tension/

I stumbled on it by accident while trying to solve an unrelated problem,
x^(n+1)-x=p*(x-1). (A typical value for n is 360.) Some of you may
recognize this as related to the internal rate of return of an annuity,
given the present value. Here, x=1/(1+i).

Investment salesmen never want you to know the infernal rate of return.
They have a lot in common with those who boast that their mirror wave
ratings is 1/39.34978216 waves, according to TEX... But they never specify
how tight the mirror clips are, so there is no way to verify their
measurement.

Am I starting to sound like David Harbour?
