Windoz in it's various flavors tends to have a method of reverting to the
defaults in one way or another.  If you do something in a non-standard way,
the stupid program will sometimes reset the variables to the default value
just to punish you for not doing things perfectly right.
Personally, I've given up on a lot of personalization and just work the
program as it is.  The only time that I really make changes now is when
windoz completely loses it's mind and does something that is really wrong.
I'll also note that recently I wanted to send a HTML post and about 1/2 of
the HTML code that is available didn't work.  Sigh!
