Re: [ATM] pitch lap question

Mark,

I've been exchanging some emails about this with a representative at
Salem Distributing for the past few days. According to him, you actually
can mix grades of Acculap to achieve a different hardness level.

He writes, "The Acculap can be softened by blending with a softer grade.
I have been told that the hardness will be linear as 50/50 mix would
yield something very close to the middle. The viscosity would not be
linear when blended according to the manufacturer."

Neither he nor I fully understand the distinction about the response of
the hardness vs. the response of the viscosity when grades are blended.
He is checking with their resident chemist to clarify this further and
will be getting back to me. I'll pass on the information when I get it.

John
