Ah, no, once you pour the pitch, there should be no reason to pull the pitch
oof again unless you poured way too much on the tool.
Just warm some water up and put the tool in the water and the pitch will
quickly warm up nicely and you can finish spreading it out without any
problems.
As to the plaster in the pitch, let the pitch warm for a while in the pot
and it will let the plaster go either to the top or the bottom of the pot
and that will tend to make sure that the plaster won't affect things later.
