Re: [ATM] pitch lap question
Generally, you don't want to have extra pieces. Some
stuff will sink to the bottom, but I don't know about
plaster. It COULD scratch your mirror.
You can easily strain pitch through a few thicknesses
of folded-over cheesecloth to get rid of twigs,
branches, pieces of plaster, masking tape, bits of
aluminum foil, small children, and so on, but it won't
increase the amount of pitch. If you order more pitch
**today** from Willmann-Bell using their telephone
number, and you live on the East Coast, it might be
there on Thursday. Or sooner. It's worth having extra
pitch. W-B sells burgundy tempered pitch as well as
soft pitch and hard pitch - made from trees. I don't
think you want to mix Gugolz and tree pitch, however,
unless you like experimenting a lot. They do not have
pitch or other ATM supplies on their website.
(I have no stock or financial interest in W-B, but am
a happy customer.) They are Willbell.com.
