Yup, me too. I used a loupe to examine my paper towels. They contain recycled paper. Many people put things other than paper into their recycle bins, and those things can end up in your paper towels (and tissues, etc.). I found bits of copper wire, and other tiny pieces of metal in my towels. I have examined higher-quality paper towels and not found metal. You may want to examine your own supply...

Also, tap water can carry particles of grit. You don't notice when you drink or wash your hands. But your freshly polished mirror will probably notice being rubbed with grit...
