Bob, I have tried this method, using a saw blade for a trepaning tool,
and the teeth having very small contact points wears the grit more than
the glass until the teeth wear down a little. Doesn't take long afew
mins and evrything is at normal speed.

Actually, the teeth probably won't affect the grinding rate at all or
very little. Just be sure to run the blade backwards so that the
backside of the teeth are pushing the grit down into the surface you are
