A way of putting knife edges on a conical baffle using a lathe without taper
attachment or CNC control would be to cut a series of V grooves with lathe
compound slide set normal to the conical surface. A sharp 60* tool would
work for this purpose. Feed using the compound. This is not threading. Each
groove would need to be cut independently. Advance to the next groove using
the carriage. One could even use an asymmetrical V form or a tool with more
acute angle than 60*.
