Push or pull as you desire.  I find that pushing puts my body force on the
mirror to bring up the forces even more.   This is one case where you WANT
to have an uneven force on the mirror as you are trying to just get that
area between the 50% zone and the 95% zone (usually the start of the TDE on
a mirror) worked down to the level of the rest of the mirror.
