[ATM] another idea for mirror blanking

In recent posts, the use of banding or plumbing strap is a staple for
the ATM.The trepan cutters I make all have notches cut into their
rims, thus allowing for the tool to capture the grit.May I venture another
material that can be had.
Ever think about using the bi-metal blades off a band saw.If you go to
a welding shop, ask for have one of their used band saw blades. These are
about 1" wide,and will probably produce a 1/16" kerf.Most blades are softer
at the back edge so they can easily bend around the driving wheels, and acts
as a shock absorber. You can punch a series of holes in this material. The
teeth will capture the grit accelerating the cut,(in theory at
least).Though some of the teeth may be gone,it shouldn't effect
performance. It's worth a try and it should cost nothing to do.
