[ATM] Schmidt corrector grinding tool

I am about to finally start making the schmidt corrector for my 6"
camera. I see two options for the tool(s).
1) Make a glass tool ground to the correct radius. In this case how
thick should the glass for the tool used on the corrector be, and how
thick should the tool be that I grind it against?

2) Make a tile tool. Should I cast the tile tool against the flat glass
that will be used for the grinding tool (concave) or should I double the
work and hog out (a few thou) the tool and cast the tile tool against
it? Again how thick should the tool be?
