Re: [ATM] Cost effective tubes for truss scope
I've used balsa/fibreglass/resin composite for truss tubes on
my scope. It's a 8.75in Dob at 5KG all in. The stuff to make
the trusses cost very little.
My ultralight scope and MK2 truss design are at the folowing web page.
The trusses weigh 60g and are1m Long and quite stiff, longitudinally, in
compression/tension, axially and in bending.
Beware however the time it takes to make the trusses.
