I've had good luck with anodized aluminum tubes from Brunner 
Enterprises, at    http://www.brunnerent.com/

Go to "aluminum extrusions" and then "round and square tubing".

I got some 1" tubing, 0.050" wall, clear satin ANODIZED on the outside 
for about $6 per 6 ft. section.  VERY nice tubing (and half the price 
of the stuff from Moonlite, but it's not dyed).  It was shipped 
promptly and arrived nicely packed.  I think my total with shipping 
was about $80 for 12 tubes (enough for two scopes with 6 truss poles).

Again, congrats on the 16.5".
