[ATM] Cost effective tubes for truss scope

Hi all,
I am going to rebuild both of my scopes to make them lighter.  Much lighter.
I need to get them down in weight so that I have the option of mounting them
on a EQ platform.  Currently my 10" is in a sonotube and the 16.5" is using
steel electrical conduit for trusses.  Both are too heavy. The steel conduit
is rock solid, but makes the scope weigh about 30 pounds without the mirror.
Any recommendations for lighter, affordable tubes would be appreciated.
And on another subject -
Would anyone with a 16" scope care to share some observations with me? Mine
is a 16.5" F4.5. I would like to compare notes and see if my 16.5" is up to
par.
