WRONG! (kinda)

Retard does not mean that an aluminizing vacuum is
unreachable. A large amount of outgassing might keep
you from reaching the Ultra High Vacuum state but
moderate outgassing can be conquered by pumping
horsepower.

They are Aluminizing all sorts of plastics and epoxy
coated items these days. Want an example? Look at the
finish on those newer car headlights. The plastic
housings are vacuum coated.

James Lerch has even coated some vacuum grease!

The vacuum needed to aluminize a telescope mirror is
nowhere near the UHV stage.
