I've used the grinding tool (tile-in-hydrostone) as
the foundation for temporary laps, but always coat
these with epoxy - I /do/ want to pull the pitch off
again (via the freezer) and I /don't/ want hydrostone
in the pitch... ;) I suspect it would stick directly
but I find cement much more useful for permanent laps
as it hangs together forever.
