Re: [ATM] First Pitch Lap - any tips?
I get a lot of weird invetment solicitations, and today I got an
interesting one from ESS-Environmental. (see www.ess-envirnmental.com)
They have developed a solvent, R6000, that dissolves any organic waste and
allows recovery with loss of only 1% of the solvent. In fact, they are
looking into recovery of petroleum from a Utah mountain of oil shale.
My first idea: get some of this stuff and leach the pitch out of ordinary
sawdust.
My second idea: there are plenty of other solvents that dissolve pitch.
Perhaps with the right kind of evaporation and condensing setup, we could
extract the pitch. Why not acetone or turpentine? This might even be
easier than breaking if off of trees in the national forest!
