I think you do need to make a new tool and will need to go back at least 
to 220 in order to get the new tool in contact.

Did you glue your tiles to the Hydrostone, or embed them?  Maybe the 
list can suggest a method that will make a more durable tool.

I have to leave for work here soon.  Will try to follow up this evening.
