[ATM] Off topic Subject of Venus transit

Hello to the list

Yesterday on Tuesday morning June 8, 2004 I got up to my alarm clock that was set to about 5 am and started getting ready for the transit.  I set up my Pentax 35mm K1000 with color Kodak 200 speed Gold film and put my mirror lens with focal length of 500mm on the camera body.  Also I have a piece of welding glass filter that is about 12 # (of course this would make the sun look green on the color film, but I also had a red film filter that I could use to compensate for it.)  I had to sit for a while until about 7:30 for the sun to rise, because there were some trees to the eastern horizon where I live and although I live in the country the trees over on the distant field made me sit longer for the sun to rise a few degrees more.  So when I would go to take the picture I would hold the welding filter in front of the lens of the camera.

It (Venus) looked like a small, but perfectly round dot at the lower right of the sun, so this probably shows that it was on its was out.  I used up a whole roll of film.  If someone wants me to send them the pictures just send me your email and I'll email you the pictures.
