Re: [ATM] First Pitch Lap - any tips?

The best thing that I ever did for making a pitch lap was to make a tool
that cut the facets in a regular and easy fashion. This is very simple and
is detailed in ATM #1 pg 85 in the 4th paragraph, halfway down.

I quote:
"We also need a stamping tool. To make this, take a piece of nice
cleanly planed wood with straight faces about 9 in x 1 1/4 in x 2 in. Cut
two pieces of thin hoop iron 9 in long, and file one edge of each to a wedge
shape. Clean both pieces up well with a file, drill three or four holes in
each, and screw them to the sides of the piece of wood, so that their
sharpened edges are paralell and 1 1/4 in apart. This is our stamp for
marking out the facets of the tool."

Simply press this into the not yet hard pitch and then clean up the edges of
the grid with a sharp razorblade. Be sure that you bottom the stamping tool
out on the tool itself. Voila!!! a quick and neat pitch lap.!!!! Proceed
as normal with everyting else.

Ciao,
        Nutso Nate
