Re: [ATM] "Synthetic jets"
If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as
it is: Infinite. --William Blake
I believe that a frequency range much in a much higher ultrasonic range will
work for synthetic jets other than the 100-200Hz audible frequency range
suggested by G. Tech.
Piezo transducers are common, reliable and very inexpensive that would work
in the ultrasonic region. I have worked with inexpensive piezo drivers
bonded to glass diaphragms that worked well as an impedance transformer to
air. A phased array of inexpensive piezo/glass drivers arranged around the
mirror or a single piezo/glass driver with solid reflectors around the
mirror perimeter could create a standing wave across the mirror face.
Perhaps the piezo/glass drivers could be used in conjunction with a small
muffin fan to increase the fan's cooling efficiency and ability to disperse
the thermal boundary layer by adding tiny vortexes much like the added wing
tips found on modern aircraft.
Break on though to the other side
