Re: ATM Annoying Cerium Oxide Residue

Hello Frank,Doug and Everyone:
I had that problem when polishing and figuring my mirror, especially when
the CEO and water would get a chance to dry before rinsing.
I used spray 409 to remove it easily, it also makes the water bead off the
glass for easier drying during quick testing.
Have a great day !

| Douglas,
|
| I had the same problem, and you came up with
| the only solution. It proves the hypothesis that
| CeO has a chemical bonding with the glass. It is
| actually under the surface. Did you also get a
| rainbow effect?

| Hello,
|
| I am polishing my mirror (10" BVC) and after a polishing session, I always
| seem to end up with a thin,
| blotchy, hazy film of CeO on the mirror. It makes it difficult to judge
how
| well the polishing is
| going.
|
| I have been taking the mirror directly from the tool to the sink and
rinsing
| it off, using soap, etc.
| but the film never really goes away. Is there any trick to avoiding this
| problem? The only
| thing that seems to remove the film is more polishing...
|
| Thanks,
|
