ATM Artifical Star testing.
Here is the report....
I did artifical star test on my 10" F-6 not perfectly
spherical, (at the moment)mirror lastnight.
I used a 12.5mm eyepiece.
image remained nice and round throughout testing.
Question is....
I did not see rings like those seen in pics of star
tests with parabolic mirror.
my image was evenly grey through out, except for a
brighter area out at the edge(outside of focus).
I assume this is how things are suppose too look, and
the bright ring outside of focus is a result of my
raised edge zone?
does this sound right?
There is no sign of astigmaitsm as far as image is
concerned anyway, thats the good thing, but am I suppose
to see rings in this image or is it right to see the
greying since it is close to sphere but not
parabolized.
