ATM carbon fabric protection

Hi,

I have finished some carbon fiber pieces with a coat of epoxy and I would 
like to protect all that with something that keep the fabric visible. May be 
a layer of polyeurethane varnish ? Does it last long ? If you can any 
advice, let me know. I plan to make a whole portable scope this way and I'm 
afraid to let it "selfdestroy" by UV or other thing.
