Re: ATM Eyepieces

Hi Andrew,

I obtained some very similar bits from here at the lab, and have very successfully used a 10x microscope eyepiece in a home built focuser on a mini 3" Newtonian. Works really well here, but I'm not sure how it would go on a "real" telescope. I'm certainly going to try it when I get my 8" finished...

I suspect they are probably of an RKE or similar design.

Cheers,
Aidan

Hi

My university recently threw out a whole bunch of damaged microscopes and I managed to get a couple of them and used bits to build a Foucault tester. I also use one of the eyepieces to look at the mirror I am grinding, easily sees pits after 220 grit :)

I am wondering what type of eyepieces they are (if there is a general sort of microscope eyepiece) there seems to be two lens elements. And are they going to be of any use for a telescope?
