ATM Any events happening in CA?

I've been in San Antonio the last 5 yrs and haven't taken any real trips out
of city limits to dark locations during that time.  I arrived in northern
California yesterday and went outside last night and looked up and had to
sit down a few minutes and take it all in.  I FORGOT WHAT THE SKY LOOKS
LIKE!  I'm now on the list of crusaders to wipe out light pollution.

I'm here at Beale AFB in CA for the next 3 months.  Are there any ATM or
astronomy related events happening this summer w/in an hour two drive from
the Yuba City/Marysville area?  Or is there anyone in the area that's an
ATM'er that wouldn't mind some company on a night or two while doing some
viewing or scope making?  I'd like to use some of my free time doing
something other that setting at this laptop.
